| Message From The Candidate: | Message From The Candidate:Dear fellow NUSS members, My name is Swee Sun, and I respectfully seek your support to serve on the NUSS Management Committee. I graduated from the NUS Faculty of Science with a degree in Computer Science in 1993 and have been an ordinary member of NUSS since 1995. For nearly 30 years, I built a career in Corporate Banking at Citi, Standard Chartered Bank, and HSBC. In my last role at HSBC, I was the Regional Sector Head of Transaction Banking, leading the sales function for the Transportation and Logistics sector across Asia. Since stepping away from corporate life in 2024, I have been able to deepen my service to NUSS. Over the years, my wife and I have co-founded a wellness community and actively participate in community initiatives. We have organized, among other efforts, a Car Wash Charity Fundraiser and a tree-planting drive at Pulau Ubin in support of NParks’ One Million Trees movement. Within NUSS, I have served as a committee member of the Golf Section for the past three years, helping to organise Monthly games and Overseas trips. I am currently the Organising Chairperson for the 40th Golf Section Annual Game and serve on the Finance Sub-committee and the Community Impact Sub-committee, where I helped drive the Children Wishing Well project last December. I see serving on the Management Committee as a natural extension of my desire to give back to NUSS—an extension of NUS, an institution that has enriched me and remains close to my heart. I will bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the MC. My professional experience, coupled with my track record in organizing social and community initiatives, will complement the existing committees. I am committed to fostering an inclusive NUSS, enhancing member experience, elevating the society’s public image, and supporting continued growth and vibrancy. I have served, I want to serve, and most importantly I believe I can serve. I hope you will give me the opportunity to contribute to the Management Committee and to serve all of you.
